Meet Robin J. Kantor

Ms. Kantor has been practicing law since 1988 and has more than three (3) decades of experience in the fields of family, divorce and matrimonial law. She has been employed by some of the highest profile law firms in the tri-state area including firms in Northern New Jersey, New York City and Rockland County. Ms. Kantor earned a degree from the NYU Stern School of Business, clerked in the Southern District of New York, and trained as a mediator and collaborative lawyer, all of which make her uniquely qualified to navigate the complicated financial and emotional aspects of divorce.

Ms. Kantor has represented clients with substantial net worth and has handled complex matrimonial issues involving equitable distribution, alimony and maintenance, support, child custody, relocation and divorce with bankruptcy. She represents clients in both New York and New Jersey.

Ms. Kantor recognizes the financial and emotional needs of clients in resolving matrimonial matters. After 23 years of contentious divorce litigation, in 2011, she formed the law firm of Robin J. Kantor & Associates, PLLC, a boutique matrimonial and family law firm specializing in comprehensive and practical alternate dispute resolution in divorce/matrimonial and family law matters through the collaborative law and mediation process. Ms. Kantor is a member of the National Association of Divorce Professionals and the International Academy of Collaborative Attorneys.

Ms. Kantor is one of only a few attorneys who has been awarded the Equal Justice Medal by the State of New Jersey for her representation of clients in the state’s Family Courts. She has also received multiple Client Satisfaction and Best in Practice Awards and has been recognized as a Distinguished Lawyer by Noticed. Ms. Kantor lectures on cutting edge topics in divorce and family law and has been a legal writer/contributor to Thomson Reuters Practical Law, with a recently-published article titled “The Intersection of Bankruptcy and Divorce Law”.
